OPTIMISME Toward a decision support system for implementing energy flows' symbiosis within territories

Summary

The objective of this research is to identify the levers and the obstacles to the realization of territorial synergies of energy mutualisation, whether technical or organizational. It thus proposes to study the contribution of a synergy in an urban operation: considering the future perspectives related to the optimization of energy management and reduction of consumption (initiated especially in the context of industrial ecology), how the current functioning of the energy metabolism will be able to adapt to the technical and organizational aspects with a view to mutualisation and new circuits? This step should make it possible to understand the current functioning of the energy metabolism at different territorial scales and to identify the obstacles and levers for the implementation of the flow management platform, in terms of sharing knowledge, accessibility of useful information and convergence of interests to systematize the valuation of energy surpluses.
The first task aims at establishing a multiscale model of urban energy metabolism, through the systemic characterization of energy flows within the study area as well as between the territory and its environment. In order to quantify the contribution of a synergy of energy mutualization in a more global operation, our model will make it possible to follow these flows in order to know their trajectories, but also the deposits of resources directly dissipated or abandoned. It will be necessary to consider the spatial structuring of resource management channels through the study of territorial metabolism (Bahers et al., 2014, 2015).
